About the festival
The Festival Chasseurs d’Orages (“storm chasers festival”) brings together enthusiasts, scientists, artists and curious visitors around thunderstorms, weather and imagery, for a weekend in Bron, near Lyon, France.
About
The festival is open to everyone, from seasoned storm chasers to simply curious visitors, adults and children alike. It is organised by the Chasseurs d’Orages association, a French community of storm chasers, photographers and weather enthusiasts.
What you will find
- An immersive exhibition of storm photography, with images and sound.
- Talks and panel discussions with meteorologists, storm chasers and image specialists.
- Screenings of films and documentaries about storms.
- Tesla coil demonstrations producing real sparks.
- Workshops on storm photography, safety and forecasting, and a workshop for children.
- Concerts and DJ sets on Friday and Saturday evenings.
- A village with associations, brands, food, a bar and the festival shop.

Getting there
Espace Albert Camus, 1 rue Maryse Bastié, 69500 Bron (Lyon metropolitan area).
- Tram T2, stop “Rebufer”, less than 5 minutes’ walk.
- From Lyon Part-Dieu station: metro B to Jean Macé, then tram T2 to Rebufer.
- From Lyon Saint-Exupéry airport: Rhônexpress to Vaulx-en-Velin La Soie, then bus C15 to Fort de Bron, about 8 minutes’ walk.
